Are PRINCE2 exams difficult?
A question that often comes up is "Are the PRINCE2 examinations hard?" Well, the UK national average pass rate for PRINCE2 Foundation examinations is about 95%. I don't have the figures for exam pass rates for students who take the exams in other countries, but I would expect it to be lower due to the simple fact that most students are likely to be taking an exam in a language other than their mother tongue.
The PRINCE2 Practitioner exam is much harder however. In the UK, about 75% of students pass this exam. This is because the Practitioner exam is testing whether the student can apply their knowledge to a particular project scenario. The Foundation exam is simply testing students' understanding of the method.
So, to answer the question - the Foundation exam can easily be passed providing you attend an accredited PRINCE 2 course. Your chances of passing both Foundation and Practitioner exams are likely to be enhanced if you are able to attend a PRINCE2 course. Alternatively, you might like to self-study, although in this case, you won't have the benefit of being able to ask an experienced trainer and PRINCE2 Practitioner if you get into difficulty.
