PRINCE2 project management training course

Last year I decided to obtain the PRINCE2 Practitioner project management certificate. I hunted around on the Net to find a training provider which offered PRINCE2 training courses. I found a lot of companies offering the same thing - i.e. a 5 day project management training course culminating in a PRINCE2 Practitioner exam. There really seemed to be little to choose between the companies.

The bigger training companies such as QA, Learning Tree or Spoce were all offering courses at the higher end of the scale. A fewer smaller companies offered PRINCE2 project management courses for as little as £1,200 for a late discount.

However, the emphasis of all the providers seemed to be on teaching students how to pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner project management exam at the end of the course. The emphasis did not seem to be focused on how to apply the PRINCE2 project method on real projects. Perhaps that's what these companies sell as follow-up courses to make some more money.

Anyway, in the meantime, if you are looking for a simpler introduction to project management training course, as an alternative to the full blown PRINCE2 project management training course, then you might want to look as far as Knowledge Train's Project Management Essentials course which is held in London on a regular basis.
